My Brother My Sister Global is one of our partners!

My Brother My Sister (MBMS) a 11 year old peer leadership mentoring organization, has partnered with East End to deliver their nationally evaluated model to middle schoolers and high school students. Participants primarily live in the Buckeye Neighborhood, but they come from as far as East Cleveland or nearby Central and Union Miles. My Brother My Sister’s Hip Hop Therapy lead by a Master level Social worker engages students in dialogues around violence, social matters, education and peer pressure. The group’s founding principles are CLC/Community Love and Culture. Currently MBMS boasts a membership of over 100 members, 99% graduated from high school and college, some now gaining their Master’s degrees.

Now East End Buckeye Chapter of MBMS engages 15 students who this past year used Graffiti arts and writing to express their truths. In 2018 they went on a college tour that included a Historically Black College and the African American Wax museum. In 2019 they began to work on digital stories in a partnership with Apple.
